“Process Chains for the Replication of Complex Optical Elements”

The aim of SFB / TR4 is to lay the scientific foundations for a deterministic and economical mass production of optical elements with complex geometry. The main focus for the IKV is on the design of a standard injection moulding tool for the precision forming of optical parts and on studying the replication process for the production of plastic lenses.

Subprojects of the IKV in TR4:

• D2: Development of innovative injection moulding and part technology for the moulding of precision components
• R1: Development of a system for the forming of precision optical plastic parts through the integration of adjustable mould inserts in the injection moulding tool
• T1: Optical polymer fibres
