The "Röchling Prize" was awarded this year by the Scientific Alliance of the University Professors of Plastics Technology (WAK) together with the Röchling Group to Dr.-Ing. Maximilian Adamy for his doctoral thesis "Application of graphene as a functional filler for melt compounding". Dr. Adamy was team leader of the Process technology group in the Extrusion Department at IKV and received his doctorate in 2018.
The prize for new hybrid materials, systems and process technologies based on plastics was officially presented at K 2019 on 21 October 2019 at the stand of Plastics Europe (Hall 6, Stand C40). The Röchling Group, which operates globally at a total of 90 locations in 25 countries in its three business sectors Industry, Automotive and Medicine, aims to support researchers who are opening up new possibilities for the design of technical applications.
Together with four innovative companies from the plastics industry, the WAK awards four prizes each year: the Wilfried Ensinger Prize, the Oechsler Prize, the Brose Prize and the Röchling Prize. The prizes are awarded for a thesis (diploma/master thesis) worth 3,500 euros and a dissertation worth 5,000 euros.
