International Symposium on Plastics Technology
Dear Colleagues,
It is an honour and a pleasure for me to invite you to the first IKV International Symposium on Plastics Technology on 10 March 2020 in Aachen. The symposium will bring together scientists and experts from all over the world who are involved in the future of plastics. The symposium will offer an exceptional forum to learn, participate and network with the people who play a leading role in the field of plastics technology. The scientific program will keep you abreast of the latest know-how in polymer science and technology.

Call for papers
Your added value
- Your article will be published as a reviewed publication in the Conference Proceedings.
- You will present your research results to a scientific forum.
- You can combine your attendance at the symposium with a visit to the International Colloquium Plastics Technology, which will take place for the 30th time in Aachen from 11 - 12 March 2020. More than 800 international visitors from science and industry are expected to attend.
Your contribution to the symposium
Frequently asked questions
In the first application phase, you submit an abstract or a poster in English, which will be assessed by an international scientific committee. If, on the basis of the submitted article, the committee rejects the paper for the symposium, it may instead offer the opportunity to present a poster.
You can submit articles on the following topics:
- Additive manufacturing
- Circular economy
- Extrusion
- Injection moulding
- Lightweight technologies
- Plastics Industry 4.0
If your poster or abstract is accepted by the committee, you will receive the request to submit a full paper.
All documents must be submitted exclusively via our online tool.
The submitted abstracts, posters and papers are assessed by a renowned international scientific committee. Further information on this committee will be announced shortly here.
All accepted papers will be published as reviewed publications in the Conference Proceedings at the Springer Verlag. With every paper comes the obligation to present the paper at the International Symposium for Plastics Technology. If the speaker is prevented from attending, a replacement speaker must be appointed.
- The abstract has: 2,500 characters (including spaces)
- The full paper has: 25,000 characters / approximately 4-5 pages (including illustrations)
- The poster may be submitted in format DIN A0 in line with your own design templates.
- In the first phase of the application, please submit a short CV together with your abstract.
- All submitted documents must be in English.
