This year's IKV Colloquium in Aachen on 7 and 8 September will provide members of the plastics sector with an ideal opportunity to get together, discuss new trends and technologies, and participate in a lively forum for networking.
Varied selection of lectures for participants to organise their own personal timetable
At the heart of the Colloquium will be 15 lecture sessions in which IKV’s current research topics will be presented and – entirely in line with the target of "Research for Practical Use" – will be linked with the perspectives and demands of the industry. For this reason, each of the sessions will be opened by an experienced industry representative, who will give a brief introduction to the subsequent scientific presentations and establish the link to industrial practice.
The attendees will be able to put together their own personal timetable of lectures by deciding at the Colloquium which sessions are of most interest to them. On the first day of the event, IKV will open its doors to the visitors for the traditional IKV 360° research live event, which involves a tour of the Institute’s testing facilities and pilot plants. This is where the connection between the lecture topics and practical application is actively established. At more than 80 test stations, the contextual and structural diversity of IKV’s research activities will be demonstrated live.
Among the highlights on the agenda will at this year’s Colloquium will again be the plenary papers. Renowned speakers from industry and research will present their points of view on the key present and future topics affecting the plastics sector, such as digitisation, circular economy and hydrogen technologies.
Industry trade show will present innovations from the industry
As a central meeting point for the plastics segment, the industry trade show, which will take place in parallel with the Colloquium, will offer an opportunity to nurture and expand professional networks. At the trade show, application-related research will come together with industrial development and innovation, creating the ideal framework for an intensive exchange of ideas with experts, decision-makers and partners. Once again, the entire plastics technology value chain will be represented on an exhibition area of around 400 m², namely machinery and equipment manufacturers, converters and raw material suppliers, producers of analysing and testing technology and consulting companies for the plastics sector.
Active scientific exchange at the International Symposium on Plastics Technology
Ahead of the Colloquium, on 5 and 6 September, the 2nd International Symposium on Plastics Technology will be held. Together with the PPS – the Polymer Processing Society – IKV invites scientists and users in the field of plastics to learn about ongoing research projects from all parts of the world. More than 100 international papers were evaluated by a specialist jury in order to put together a high-calibre symposium programme. Anyone participating in both events can benefit from a reduced combined ticket when booking.
