Successful premiere for the International Symposium on Plastics Technology

International speakers provided unique insights into current polymer research

The Symposium was held digitally due to the pandemic situation

In the run-up to the 30th International Colloquium on Plastics Technology, the 1st International Symposium on Plastics Technology took place on 07 September. The scientific forum, at which research projects from the fields of additive manufacturing, circular economy, lightweight construction and plastics industry 4.0 as well as innovative projects from the fields of extrusion and injection moulding were presented and discussed, met with a thoroughly positive response from the expert audience. Particular praise was given afterwards for the compactness and practical relevance of the presentations. In addition, both the speakers and the other participants appreciated the advantages of the digital format - the international visitors had plenty of opportunities for lively discussions in three parallel Zoom meetings.

The high quality of the research contributions had previously been reviewed by an eight-member scientific committee. The selected contributions - published by Springer-Verlag in a high-quality hardcover version as conference proceedings - show a representative cross-section of current polymer research.
