TAG 2021: Lively exchange between industry and science

The annual Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meetings thrive on personal dialogue – so it was no surprise that the organisers and participants were delighted that a meeting in presence was finally possible again. From 8 to 10 November 2021, scientists from IKV exchanged information about research at the Institute with representatives from the companies of the IKV Sponsors' Association at the SuperC in Aachen.

Eight sessions on the research areas of injection moulding, extrusion, polyurethane technology, part design and materials technology, rubber technology and composites provided an opportunity to find out about current projects, gain impulses for company activities and offer the scientists of IKV ideas from practical experience.

A special programme item in the Rubber Technology session was the workshop "Quo Vadis, Elastomer Industry", which was also open to non-members of the Association and was very well received. The content of the workshop was the challenges and opportunities for the rubber industry resulting from the current developments in the automotive sector.

The entire event was carried out in compliance with the 3G rule, including a strict Covid prevention concept.

We thank all participants for their active participation and valuable input, which advances the research at IKV and promotes the relation of the activities to industrial practice.

Save the date of next year's Technical Advisory Group meetings already now: From 7 to 9 November 2022, we look forward to welcoming you again for a professional and personal exchange in Aachen.
