With the Reifenhäuser Sponsorship Award, the Reifenhäuser company honours special research achievements by junior scientists. This year, Tien Viet-Anh Vu, M.Sc., was honoured for his master's thesis entitled "Development of a process model for modeling the relationship between set and real injection volume flow rate in the injection moulding process". The prize was presented by Dr Jakob Onken, Director Product Management at Reifenhäuser Blown Film and IKV alumnus, during the 32nd International Colloquium on Plastics Technology at the Eurogress in Aachen on 29 February 2024.

Tien Viet-Anh Vu has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University since the beginning of 2023. As a student assistant, he completed both his Bachelor's and Master's thesis at IKV.

"It is a great honour for me to receive this award today and a motivation for my further scientific career," said Tien Viet-Anh Vu, thanking the sponsor and IKV Institute Director Professor Christian Hopmann as well as his supervisor Thilo Köbel.

The Reifenhäuser sponsorship award for students, was established in 2020 to recognise outstanding work in the field of plastics technology. The aim is to encourage young talents to tackle the current challenges of the plastics world at a high level.
